A Three Dog Night

Today, I hate iTunes

So I recently updated to iTunes 7.0.1 and now my computer is not authorized to play about half of the music I have purchased via the iTunes store. This sucks since I can't play music I paid for. It is over a thousand songs, which means over a thousand dollars I spent on music that I can't play. If memory serves me right, this probem has happend before, so I hope that it resolves itself. Or I may need to give the folks at Apple a call.

I like Macs and I like PCs. Macs were better before they started to be the whole house/whole family entertainment vehicle.

Think Different.

Sandra Lee is on the phone...

OK, so I hate Sandra Lee of the FoodTV show "Semi-Homade with...". But I do watch her show for the humor factor, i.e. gross food, table scapes, and those odd cocktails. It seems I need to put a halt to my viewing...evidence is tonight's dinner.

Ohio State vs. Penn State

Right before today's kickoff we had this towing parade in front of the house. The game is now underway. Outside, I hear the sounds of a light rain, the hum of the Goodyear blimp, and the occasional roar of the 105,000 people gather less than a mile away. Later, there will be some unhappy wet drunk individuals looking for their cars. I'm sorry we will not be home tonight to watch.

It feels like this was just yesterday.

Ohio State vs. University of Cincinnati

Today was the second home game of the 2006 OSU football season. We had a few towings in the area. I had to get a shot of the BMW being carried away. It's always nice to see a high performance import take the trip to the impound lot. It is especially nice if said car is sporting a "W The President" sticker. SCORE!

Oh and I think Ohio State won today.

Sunday at the Zoo

Today we went to Saturn Day at the Columbus Zoo. We don't own Saturns, but friends do and so we tagged along. When we arrived in the 'party' area, there were two lines, one to see Jack Hannah and the other for hot dogs. Sorry Jack, maybe next year.

Gumby shared a drink with a new friend. Gumby named him Arnold.

It being a late summer day most of the animals were sleeping.

Not dead, just sleeping.

Gumby loves Goats and would really like one. Oddly most of the goats were smaller than our dog Radley (the original yellow dog).

Oh and we saw the gorillas too.

It was a great day. The weather was perfect and we both got a bit too much sun. It was just a great way to spend a day relaxing and being with the one you love.

Firefox 1.5.06 vs. Safari 2.0.4

Question for any Mac users out there that have used both Firefox and Safari. Which to you like better and which one do you use?

Monty & Friends

Ok this was cool. I looked out the kitchen window and saw a swarm on Monarch butterflies on the butterfly bush. I went out and did a head count. 10!!
I was able to get a photo with four.

Looks like Monty and the gang are fueling up for the commute to Mexico.

Grazing

I went back to Oodles for lunch today. I had Pot Stickers and the Hot and Sour soup. I thought a lite lunch was in order, since I grazed my way through the fridge last night.

Gumby and I got an invitation to a VIP grand opening party at the newest Buffalo Wild Wings here in Columbus. It's located in the newly renovated Graceland Shopping Center. (Sorry no Elvis sightings). The party was last night and with Gumby out of town I thought that I wouldn't go. But then I remembered how we Gumby begged for an invite. It's no secret that on most Friday nights we walk down to the BDUBs on campus and consume some chicken product and Guinness. Amiee was our most favorite manager at the campus store, but she was promoted and was transferred to the new Graceland location. She sent us the invitation. The invitations had set times for you to arrive so that the kitchen could get really slammed. The food and service were both great. Oh and the food was free!!! and the Guinness was only a buck. I set at the bar and played trivia (Badly). So about 45 minutes after getting there, people were really slamming their dollar drinks down. Amiee walked by me once and said, "Oh, this is going to get SO ugly”. The last I saw of her, she was dashing across the dinning room with three people from corporate chasing her.

I left after an hour. It was boring without Gumby. We will start working on getting and invitation to the new BDUBs that will be opening here on campus in February. It will be two blocks closer to our house. They will be tearing down the original campus location (which was the first location nationwide). Let me tell you, the building needs to go. This whole summer the bar area has smelled like a pond. I keep looking for frogs.

O - H! I - O! OH - NO!

So this afternoon is the home opener for Ohio State football. Kick-off is at 3:30, but there has been cases and cases of Natural lite walking by since before ten this morning. Our street is permit only on home game days. We already have a number of cars that will be towed once the game gets started. I don't care about the game. The towing is the best part of game day. We often have neighborhood get-togethers so we can cheer the tow truck drivers on. It is also great watching the people walking up and down the street trying to find their Lexus or BMWs afterwards, especially if they have had just a bit too much to drink. Looks like a cab ride back to Dublin for you!

Go Bucks!

UPDATE: 3:06pm. The writing of the parking tickets has started! I hear a tow truck in the distance!!

3:20pm. Bye Bye Honda Civic.

There's a new love in my life...

I just had the BEST lunch!! Beef and pork dumplings in a sweet broth.

Oodles Noodle & Dumpling Bar
is a new fast casual prototype store located down in the Victorian Village area of Columbus.

1. I must eat there a least once a week.
2. I want one to open in our neighborhood.
3. The guy working behind the counter looked like a young Jake Gylenhaal (ala October Sky)
4. Gumby, they do have Thad Phai!!!
